CHALLANGE

Define a solution that enables Spotify to use technology to spread positivity; specifically by bringing listeners closer to the creators and communities they love.

INSIGHT

Specific structural elements with music (melodies, rhythm, beat, harmony) can offer very soothing effects for Neurodivergent individuals, who often endure overstimulation.

SOLUTION

‘MindSpot’ by Spotify is designed to hand Neurodivergent people custom control of their auditory consumption. The feature enables users to strip back their favoured tracks through the integration of AI, to isolated elements (such as solely the melody or rhythm), or alternatively, a collection of brain tickling components (texture, timbre and beat), to establish a sense of aural equilibria.
